Section 6 | Sustainability Statement 176 SUSTAINABILITY MESSAGE BY GROUP CEO Dear Stakeholders, We are pleased to present Serba Dinamik Holdings Berhad’s Sustainability Statement for FPE2021. This Sustainability Statement covers business strategies and activities that are significant to our stakeholders and how these material aspects are disclosed. This statement provides an overview of our Group’s progress throughout FPE2021 including the policies, practices and procedures developed and implemented. This Sustainability Statement also represents our commitment to stakeholders towardsmaintaining high levels of transparency and accountability in achieving a sustainable future. Asweprogressonour sustainability journey,wecontinue to identify areas where we can make a positive impact. This year we identified eleven (11) material sustainability matters that are deemed important to our stakeholders. We also aligned these material matters with the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (UNSDG), demonstrating our contribution towards economic, environment, social and governance issues. This year has been a challenging year globally amidst the impact of COVID-19 pandemic as businesses were forced to close for a temporary period. As we mainly operate in the oil and gas industry which is deemed as essential, we were able to continue our operations whilst adhering to strict SOP and compliance. As we grow our business, we will continue to create value in the economies that we operate in. In Malaysia, through our Vendor Development Programme ("VDP"), we are committed to nurture and develop small and medium engineering companies to be competitive locally and be global players. We stand by our “Think Globally, Act Locally” philosophy whenever we expand our business overseas. It is important that we remember our humble beginnings and be respectful to other nations’ people, cultures, practices and environments. While we aim to achieve a primary objectiveof profitmaximisation, weunderstand the need to satisfy local stakeholders including workers, customers, suppliers, business partners, government as well as the community. With the global onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a systemic shift in ICT usage particularly during periods where restriction in physical movements and contacts were in place.
