Future-Proofing Our Workforce Bank Islam prioritises employee development with strategic initiatives offering diverse learning opportunities, while also proactively identifying essential future roles and aligning with employee career aspirations. Our commitment extends beyond current employees, fostering future talent through programmes like Youth Power Up, thereby empowering a future-ready workforce that drives innovation and industry leadership. People Review Exercise To identify successors and assess readiness for senior leadership roles, promoting diversity and building a robust talent pipeline. In Q4 2023, we conducted a thorough People Review specifically for senior leaders. This involved identifying potential successors and evaluating their preparedness for assuming leadership roles in the future within our organisation. This effort yielded a robust talent pool at Bank Islam, where 22% of management successors are talented women from middle management, showcasing our dedication to diverse leadership. The 1:2.7 talent-to-position ratio underscores Bank Islam’s effectiveness in grooming employees for future roles. Objective: What We Did: Progress and Achievements: Future Skills Study To identify critical future roles and develop strategies to ensure a future-proof workforce. We collaborated with an independent consultant to identify 17 key roles and develop strategies including competency development, external consultancy engagement, job review, talent redeployment, and targeted talent sourcing and hiring. Following this study, we are currently formulating plans for the roles we have identified to facilitate seamless succession and ensure our workforce remains adaptable for the future.
