Section 6 | Sustainability Statement 204 ECOSYSTEM We are mindful of the significance and importance of our efforts as well as its impact on the environment and ecosystem as a whole. Therefore, we are determined to constantly monitor the impact of our business operations on the environment and biodiversity in the surrounding areas where we perform our work. We assure that we always have a positive impact on the environment, promote reduction of our stakeholders’ and our own carbon footprint, also to nurture and protect the natural biodiversity in the ecosystems surrounding our operations. We further integrated this mindset in our policies and frameworks toensure that all our stakeholders areaware of it, and uphold the same standards to work towards lowering our carbon footprint, minimising pollution, protect nature and the environment around us. We also developed several objectives and operating procedures to minimise resource consumption by at least 5% as well as minimise any form of waste generated. We realise that our duties do not end by minimising our carbon footprint and our waste production. Therefore, we adopted a proactive approach to promote biodiversity and to improve the overall habitat for plants, animals and microorganisms in surrounding areas where we operate. As a result, in 2019, we worked in collaboration with University Teknologi Petronas ("UTP") and Bintulu Development Authorities planting mangroves at Bintulu, Sarawak. Furthermore, during FPE2021, we spent over RM1 million to improve our waste management and meet our waste management targets. SAFEGUARDING EMPLOYEES AND ENVIRONMENT
