Tho Che Ping, a Malaysian male, is our Administration and Human Resources Manager. He is responsible for enforcing our Group’s workplace disciplinary policies and overseeing compliance-related matters concerning buildings, company vehicles, health and safety program, and other administrative functions as well as human resources functions.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration Major in Finance from Eastern Michigan University, USA in 1996. Following that, he obtained his Master of Business Administration in 1997 from the same university.
In 1996, he was appointed as Research Assistant and received a corresponding tuition scholarship with an on-campus employment position as a Database Controller for Menu Management System (“MMS”) at Eastern Michigan University Dining Services department. He was in charge of maintaining MMS database network system and the compiling of sales and cost reports from all on-campus restaurants’ supervisor, as well as training new employees to use the MMS. Upon graduation of his Master’s degree, he left the Eastern Michigan University Dining Services department in 1997.
In 1998, he started his career as a Marketing Research Management Trainee in Ann Arbor Acura Hyundai, USA, a full service centre car dealership, where he was responsible in building customers database for the marketing department to enhance sales revenue of automotive products for the company. He was later promoted to Marketing Research Analyst in 1999 where his role was to implement marketing programmes. He left the company in 2001 and returned to Malaysia and pursued his personal interests until 2002.
In 2002, he worked as a Sales and Marketing Executive in MZ Motorrad Sdn Bhd, a company involved in the manufacturing and sales of motorcycles and motorcycle parts, where he was in charge of developing and expanding motorcycle dealership networks nationwide. In 2005, he was promoted to Senior Sales Executive, where he implemented sales strategies and prepared sales and marketing related management analysis reports. In 2007, he was promoted to Sales Manager for the Southern Region where he managed and strengthened the company’s dealership network. In 2008, MZ Motorrad Sdn Bhd was wound up and he was transferred to a related company, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd, a company involved in the manufacturing and sales of motorcycles, as a Branch Manager, where he was responsible for overseeing the East Malaysia market, perform market intelligence data analysis in relation to market trends as well as enhance brand building activities.
He left Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd in 2009 and joined Biofact Life Sdn Bhd, a herbal healthcare product manufacturer as Sales and Marketing Manager, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s sales and marketing strategies, the set-up of new sales office, building the sales team as well as monitoring the team’s performance. He left the company in June 2012.
He joined MJ Life Enterprises Sdn Bhd, an operator of health screening centre, from 2012 until 2013 as Deputy General Manager. He was in charge for the company’s operations as well as formulating the company’s growth strategies. From 2014 until 2016, he was attached to Nova Talent Sdn Bhd, a furniture manufacturer, as Assistant General Manager where he was in charge of overseeing and managing the operations for the local market and formulating procedures for export market.
He commenced business as a sole proprietor under the trade name Mywell Curtain (providing curtain, home decoration, cabinet services, installation and trading of textile and curtain) in 2015 and Mywell Furnishing (trading of furniture, curtain and furnishing related home appliances, furnishing renovation, built-in furnishing, furnishing decoration and curtain design) in 2016. In 2016, Mywell Curtain ceased its operation. In 2017, Mywell Furnishing was converted into a partnership upon admission of a business partner. He was involved in managing Mywell Furnishing’s operation until his resignation from his executive role in Mywell Furnishing in 2021.
In 2021, he joined our Group as the General Operations Manager, where he was responsible for formulating work policies, reviewing operational procedures and overseeing our operations, purchasing and planning, warehouse and logistic departments. Upon an internal reorganisation on the management’s roles and responsibilities of our Group, he assumed his current position and responsibilities in 2024.
