SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT MATERIALITY MATTERS (cont’d) Eligible Asset / Project Description Proceeds Allocated (RM ‘mil) % of Proceeds Eligible Project Category Under the Framework UNSDG Supported UNSDG Target and Alignment in Eligible Project Expected Impact Sustainable management of natural resources 11.6 - Real-time supply chain traceability to facilitate tracking and verification in determining whether products are produced sustainably and ethically sustainable, legitimate and ethical or not that contributes to the environmental impact. Blockchain technology facilitates product traceability by creating an immutable ledger of transactions. Each stage of the supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to product distribution, is recorded. MDEC has officially launched the Halal Traceability Pilot Project in partnership with Intelligence Trace, Biforst, and Zetrix at Smart Nation Expo 2024. This initiative highlights MDEC’s dedication to driving innovation within the Halal supply chain by integrating advanced technologies like IoT and blockchain. These solutions aim to enhance traceability, foster innovation, and address key challenges within the Halal industry while unlocking new opportunities for growth. The pilot project strengthens transparency and integrity in goods movement, solidifying Malaysia’s leadership in the Islamic Digital Economy. Through this collaboration, we are paving the way for a future built on trust, innovation, and sustained growth. Climate change adaptation 9.4 – Zetrix AI’s decentralised solution services are considered clean and environmentally sound technology, having lower average consumption of power to its comparable. Zetrix’s DPOS and pBFT consensus mechanism allows a relatively smaller set of validator nodes to perform more efficiently, with less environmental impact as compared to Ethereum’s proof-of-stake mechanism, which in itself consumes at least 2 orders of magnitude lesser power than Bitcoin’s network. Zetrix uses less energy compared with other networks; Bitcoin - 65.70 (TWH), ETH POS - 0.51(TWH), Zetrix - 0.00024 (TWH) • Majority of the nodes are located in China (56 of 65). China is rapidly developing and pioneering the growth of clean-energy technology. • China is leading in renewable technology. Energy consumption • TWH: 0.00024 (TWH)/year. This is lower in comparison with other networks such as ETH 2.0 : 0.51(TWH)/year AI initiative and further expansion of the blockchain programme 777.5 43.7 Eco-efficient and/or circular economy adapted products, production technologies and processes 8.2 Various chatbots developed to achieve higher levels of economic productivity through technological upgrading and innovation, by focusing on effective use of technology. Chatbot presently available, are as follows: • Compare/MYEG AI – AI chatbot to assist user with insurance comparison. • INCEIF Chatbot – chatbot developed for the INCEIF document repository hosted under iFikr. • Nur AI – provide guidance and information aligned with Islamic principles. Total 1,777.5 100.0 INDIRECT ECONOMIC VALUE CREATED Zetrix AI contributes indirect economic value through the deployment of digital services and technology platforms that improve the efficiency, security and accessibility of interactions between governments, businesses and individuals. By digitalising processes that were previously manual, the Group helps to reduce processing time, improve reliability and enhance the overall user experience across both domestic and cross-border applications. These benefits are enabled through the Zetrix Layer-1 blockchain ecosystem and complemented by AI-enabled capabilities that support automation, verification and trusted data exchange. The Group’s infrastructure and solutions contribute to broader economic value creation by strengthening the performance, security and interoperability of digital transactions and public-facing services. Key examples include domestic digital identity verification through MyDigital ID, cross-border digital credential verification initiatives with China, the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure, which supports the development of a more interoperable national blockchain framework, digital government-facing applications such as immigration and border-related systems, including the NIISe immigration system, as well as blockchain-based financial innovations such as stablecoin applications including JMYR and digital bank guarantees. Collectively, these use cases are intended to enhance safety and security, reduce fraud risks, protect user privacy and streamline processes to deliver greater convenience, efficiency and lower transaction costs across the economy. The use of Self-Sovereign Identity protocols on the Zetrix ecosystem further strengthens personal data protection and trust in digital transactions, which is increasingly important in an evolving digital environment. 94
