SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT MATERIALITY MATTERS (cont’d) The Group has also strengthened its environmental footprint management initiatives through ongoing internal awareness and engagement programmes to encourage environmentally responsible behaviour across the organisation. As part of this approach, monthly EDM e-mails are circulated to employees to reinforce environmental best practices, promote practical everyday actions, and support consistent adoption of the Environmental Policy and the Waste Management and Recycling Statement at the workplace. These EDMs serve as a regular touchpoint to build awareness, shape culture, and sustain momentum on resource efficiency and responsible waste practices. Beyond implementing these internal environmental policies, Zetrix AI is also leveraging its technological capabilities for broader environmental impact. Through our Layer-1 blockchain platform, Zetrix is contributing to sustainable cryptocurrency practices by collaborating with the GreenBTC Club. This innovative programme aims to offset Bitcoin’s environmental impact by calculating the power consumption of Bitcoin blocks and implementing carbon offset mechanisms. Through GreenBTC Club’s gamified approach, participants can help ‘greenify’ Bitcoin blocks using verified carbon credits recorded on the blockchain as tokenised Authenticated Representation Tokens (“ART”). WATER CONSUMPTION Zetrix AI’s operations are primarily digital and technology-based, and do not involve manufacturing or other waterintensive industrial activities. As such, the Group’s direct water consumption is relatively minimal and primarily associated with office operations. For its typical office operations in Malaysia, the Group’s water supply is generally sourced from local municipal utility providers through treated potable piped water. On a broader scale, Zetrix AI employs a chilled water system for its building’s cooling mechanism and plans on installing self-closing water taps. This system facilitates water recirculation and management, contributing to a significant reduction in overall water consumption at a larger scale. On an individual and focused level, employees are periodically reminded to turn off water-based appliances after use, in addition to receiving strong awareness on the importance of saving water. As we explore more water-saving initiatives, we will reduce our water consumption even further and complement the best practices we have already adopted. Despite this, the Group still adheres to guidelines that have been set in Zetrix AI’s Environmental Policy to manage its paper consumption, as well as other initiatives, such as: Employees have a major role to play in reducing paper consumption and they are encouraged and reminded to use paper in an efficient manner such as using double-sided printing and avoiding the use of paper cups in the workplace. The Group has established green features at Zetrix AI in order to reduce paper consumption, which includes the introduction of digital forms, or e-forms, for employees to use regarding administrative matters e.g. leave application, salary slip, claims, appraisal, material requisition and more. Relying on digital signatures instead of physical signatures on documents when it comes to regular administrative operations which reduces the need to print. Utilising cloud services for information distribution and sharing instead of distributing printed copies. 116
