Yinson Integrated Annual Report 2026

91 INTEGRATED ANNUAL REPORT 2026 SUSTAINABILITY REVIEW | BUILDING ENVIRONMENTAL AND CLIMATE RESILIENCE Nature-related investments Yinson advances environmental conservation through strategic investments in nature that preserve ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and support sustainable development. Our efforts include NbS projects, high-quality carbon credit purchases, and partnerships that enable impactful climate action. We have a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the MFF to explore the development of NbS projects in Malaysia, and are also exploring potential partners to co-develop high-quality carbon credit projects. Since 2023, we have supported Malaysia’s national carbon exchange platform, Bursa Carbon Exchange through the purchase of high-quality carbon credits – reinforcing our commitment to transparent and credible market-based climate action. These initiatives reflect Yinson’s proactive approach to financing and co-developing NbS projects that contribute to long-term ecosystem resilience. Employee-driven biodiversity initiatives Through our CSR programmes, we empower employees to participate in biodiversity initiatives that restore degraded land, prevent marine pollution and protect ecosystems. Nature stewardship programmes • In Kuala Lumpur, 33 employees contributed to the planting of 21 native plant species and trail rehabilitation at the Bangsar Pulai Trail Urban Forest with Free Tree Society. This initiative contributed up to 100 trees planted in the nursery. • 300 native tree saplings were planted in the Lower Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary in Sabah through APE Malaysia’s ‘1 Attendee, 1 Tree Planted’ programme. • 2,500 mangrove saplings across five species were planted by 50 employees and youth volunteers in Penang on World Mangrove Day 2025 – an achievement recognised by Malaysia Book of Records for the most mangrove saplings in a nursery. Turtle conservation through habitat protection • Yinson Malaysia contributed RM12,000 to Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia (TCS), supporting the protection of 100 river terrapin nests containing 1,303 eggs, from which 999 hatchlings emerged. • In Singapore, employees participated in the construction of a turtle sanctuary in Batam, Indonesia, contributing directly to habitat protection, nesting ground preparation and ecosystem preservation. Protecting marine ecosystems through coastal clean‑ups • In Brazil, 20 volunteers collected debris from Botafogo Beach followed by an environmental awareness session on marine pollution. • In Norway, 10 employees conducted a kayak clean‑up along the Oslo Fjord, removing 8.3 kg of waste from the coastline. • In Angola, employees participated in a beach clean‑up at Nicha Beach, collecting recyclable and non‑recyclable waste, including over 100 plastic bottles channelled to local recycling partners. Three-pronged nature strategy Responsible stewardship Responsible management and consumption of waste, water, effluent, and air emissions across our operations from acquisition to disposal, ensuring minimal environmental impact through sustainable practices and continuous improvement. Rehabilitation and remediation of biodiversity Strategies for rehabilitating and remediating habitats aimed to protect and enhance biodiversity through collaborative partnership and conservation efforts, ensuring that EIAs are conducted and followed up (where applicable). Investments in nature Promoting environmental conservation through NbS projects, CSR initiatives such as tree planting and mangrove reforestation, and investments in high-quality carbon credits that support ecosystem preservation and biodiversity restoration.
