Guided by our 5-year Talent Strategy, we continued to strengthen talent fulfilment, workforce capability and leadership & culture, building robust talent pipelines and leadership readiness necessary to drive the MISC 2030 Ambition. To future-proof our people, we continued to prioritise capability development to support evolving business and operational requirements. Key programmes such as the groupwide Techno-Commercial Excellence in Maritime (TEXIM), Port and Terminal Multiskilling, seafarer-targeted initiatives including the Steam-to-Motor Upskilling Programme and preparatory initiatives for ammonia vessel readiness, and the specialised technical certifications for heavy engineering were delivered to enhance expertise in new energy, decarbonisation, and maritime operations, while strengthening execution capability and operational standards across the value chain. A key milestone during the year was the advancement of HR Transformation, to improve the overall employee experience and reposition HR as a strategic partner to the business. Culture remained a priority through the institutionalisation of Accountability, Transparency and Efficiency (ATE) as the accelerator to foster Enterprise Mindset and embed new ways of working, reinforced through enterprise-wide engagement platforms and leadership dialogues promoting collaboration, clarity, and a high culture. Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) also remained integral to MISC’s value proposition as we strengthen internal policies and wellbeing initiatives. Efforts in 2025 focused on advancing women’s leadership within the maritime industry, culminating in the launch of the PETRONAS Leading Women Network – Maritime Chapter within the MISC Group. We continued to uphold its commitment to nation-building through the development of Malaysia’s future maritime talent. During the year, 153 new cadets were sponsored under the MISC Cadet Sponsorship Programme. In parallel, ALAM continued its transformation journey, strengthening academic governance, operational excellence and the student experience, enhancing its readiness for University College status and supporting its aspiration to become a centre of excellence in maritime education. Looking ahead, we will continue to invest strategically in human capital through reskilling and retooling initiatives to prepare the workforce for future challenges. AI-driven digitalisation will be leveraged to enhance productivity, support decision-making and improve the employee experience. At the same time, the Group remains focused on harnessing multigenerational strengths, advancing inclusive talent development and supporting holistic wellbeing to build organisational resilience aligned with MISC 2030 Ambition.
