Ilham Binti Umar Thabii commenced her pupillage at Messrs. Zain & Co. from April 2010 to January 2011 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in January 2011. She then joined Messrs. Mazlan & Associates as a Legal Assistant in the Corporate Department, where she was involved in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets proposals and the establishment of private equity funds. In 2013, she joined Cyril & Co. (later known as Cyril Zhafri & Co.) as a Partner, where she handled civil litigation matters. In 2015, she co-founded Messrs. Ilham Lee and, as a Partner, provided legal advisory services in relation to initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, private equity funds, real estate and capital markets. Following the cessation of the firm's operations in 2025, she incorporated MIUT Global Sdn. Bhd., a consultancy firm that advises clients on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, strategic business direction and decision-making frameworks.
