The Board of Directors of PETRONAS Gas Berhad (“PGB or “the Company”) wishes to announce that the Company, had on 22 October 2025 been served a Writ of Summons and Statement of Claim dated 17 October 2025 from Messrs Tommy Thomas, the Solicitors acting on behalf of the following Plaintiffs.

(ii) Plaintiffs 1 to 34 are owners and occupiers of houses in the Topaz Housing Community in Taman Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights.
(iii) Plaintiff 35 is a tenant of a house in the Topaz Housing Community in Taman Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights.
(iv) Plaintiff 36 is the owner and occupier of a house in the Citrine Housing Community in Taman Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights.
(v) The 36 Plaintiffs also bring this Suit as “Representative Proceedings” within the meaning of Order 15, Rule 12 of the Rules of Court 2012 where they also represent 73 Family Members of 32 of these Plaintiffs.

The case is registered under the High Court of Malaya at Shah Alam, in the State of Selangor Darul Ehsan, bearing the reference civil Suit No.: BA-22NCvC-472-10/2025.
(a) The Plaintiffs have claimed that PGB:
(i) Have acted negligently and/or in breach of its duty of care, which caused or materially contributed to the escape of gas, explosion and fire. The claim for negligence is based on allegations that PGB failed to, among others, take reasonable precaution with respect to the protection, surveillance, maintenance and operation of the pipeline.
(ii) Have committed the tort of private nuisance and/or is liable under the doctrine of Rylands v Fletcher by permitting the escape of gas and/or fire from PGB’s land onto the Plaintiffs’ lands.
(iii) Have breached its statutory duties under various sections and regulations of the Gas Supply Act 1993 and Petroleum (Safety Measures) (Transportation of Petroleum through Pipelines) Regulations 1985.
(b) In light of the above, the Plaintiffs have sought the following reliefs:
(i) Special Damages
(ii) General Damages for pain and suffering and/or nervous shock
(iii) Aggravated Damages
(iv) Exemplary Damages
(v) Costs
(vi) Such further relief as the Court deems fit and just
(c) The estimated quantum as stated in the Statement of Claim for Special Damages is approximately RM68,000,000.
Subject to the outcome of the court proceedings and based on information available to date, the claim is not expected to have material financial and operational impact to the Company.
The Company has appointed legal counsel to advise and represent the Company in this matter and further announcements will be made to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on any material developments in relation to this litigation, in compliance with Paragraph 9.04(f) of the Main Market Listing Requirements.
