She is currently the Head of Corporate Secretarial - International, Group Secretarial & Board Governance.
With over 27 years of experience in corporate secretarial and board governance, Mariam has worked across diverse sectors including telecommunications, shipping, finance, and oil & gas. She began her journey with PETRONAS in 1999 and later joined MISC Berhad from 2005 to 2006. In November 2006, she moved to Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Berhad, where she led the Corporate Secretarial Department and served as the Company Secretary for five years.
Mariam returned to PETRONAS in November 2011 as Head of Corporate Secretarial at PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad, and has since held various roles within GSBG, including in the Listed and Board Governance Unit.
She also serves as Company Secretary for several entities within the PETRONAS Group, including PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad, PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad, PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation Sdn Bhd and a few others. Additionally, she contributes to the profession as a member of the Technical Compliance and Governance Committee of MAICSA.
