Questionnaires, such as training needs identifications and appraisal forms, are used to collect valuable data on employee competency. Interviews Interviews with the employees and their superior on skill gaps. Interviews are most likely based on frequent conversations between an interviewer and the employee which can provide valuable data on the employee’s understanding of their role and performance concerning KPIs established for their position. Focus Group Group interviews conducted by a leader aimed to encourage the participants to interact to obtain data on the training needs detected by themselves. They also tend to reveal any information that provides insight into where employees currently stand regarding the company’s objectives. Observation Observing an employee performing their everyday duties or resolving problems could provide a lot of information about their skills and knowledge and help determine which ones need to be reinforced through training. A training programme to improve sales, people skills, knowledge and attributes to drive the sales team’s behavioural change and maximise sales success. 8 Soft skills training - focuses on personal attributes, such as communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving, that are necessary for an individual’s success and career development. Across an organisation, in every business unit and employee role, soft skills are crucial for gaining new clients, improving current customer relationships and service metrics as well as building a stronger team dynamic. 9 Diversity training - creates awareness of diversity-focused issues within the workplace with an aim to facilitate positive interactions and reduce prejudice and discrimination among employees. 10 Safety training - designed to train employees on precautionary processes and procedures to mitigate risks or the chance of injury or fatality on the job. Safety training is a form of compliance training delivered to protect the organisation and its people.
