DR. HAJI AMIRUDIN BIN ABDUL WAHAB Audit and Risk Management Committee (Member) Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin bin Abdul Wahab has over 30 years of experience in information and communications technology (ICT), telecommunications, cybersecurity, and national digital policy development. His career spans leadership roles in the private sector, semi-government agencies, and federal ministries, with involvement in national ICT strategy, regulatory coordination, and digital ecosystem development. He served as Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia from 14 January 2013 to 13 January 2026, where he was responsible for the overall management, governance, and strategic direction of the national cybersecurity agency. In this capacity, he led national cybersecurity initiatives, strengthened stakeholder collaboration across government and industry, and ensured delivery of organisational mandates in line with national policy objectives. Prior to this, he was Under Secretary (ICT Policy Division), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) (20102012), where he headed the secretariat to the National Information Technology Council (NITC) chaired by the Prime Minister. He coordinated national ICT development programmes, managed ICT-related international engagements, and oversaw policy frameworks and R&D funding initiatives within the ICT cluster. He also held senior leadership roles at MIMOS Berhad, serving as Senior Manager (2006-2007) and subsequently Director, Corporate Alliance & Communication (2008-2009). During this period, he oversaw strategic alliances involving government agencies, universities, multinational corporations, and international partners, as well as evaluation of national ICT research and innovation funding programmes. Earlier, he served as Manager (Infrastructure Unit, Regulations Department) at Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) (2004-2006), where he was responsible for implementation of MSC Bill of Guarantees commitments, telecommunications quality of service standards, tariff negotiations, and regulatory coordination within the Multimedia Super Corridor framework. He began his career with Maxis Communications Berhad (1993-2000), progressing from Engineer to Section Head, and was part of the pioneer team involved in developing and commissioning Malaysia's GSM mobile network infrastructure and international roaming services. Dato' Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Queensland, a Master in Business Administration from University of Dubuque, a Master in Information Technology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical Engineering) from University of Michigan. He was conferred the National Technologist Award 2024 by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) in recognition of his contributions to Malaysia's technology and cybersecurity sector.
