NexG Berhad Annual Report 2025

ANNUAL REPORT 2025 SUSTAINABILITY Sustainability Statement (Cont’d) 69 OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? In our technology-driven industry, the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors and customers is inseparable from our success. Although our business is not classified as heavy industry, we recognise that safety risks still exist and require careful management. Providing a safe and healthy workplace is essential to sustaining business continuity and protecting our people. In industries where precision and reliability are critical, even small incidents can have wide-reaching impacts. A strong safety culture helps us to minimise operational risks and maintain service excellence. This determination extends beyond our own employees, influencing our partners and suppliers to adopt similar standards. OUR APPROACH We strive to provide a workplace that is free from injuries and occupational hazards. NexG maintains an Occupational Safety and Health (“OSH”) Policy, that sets the overall direction for health and safety across all operations. In addition, NexG’s subsidiaries maintain site-level OSH Policies tailored to their specific operational context. The Group’s OSH Policy applies to all employees, contractors, and visitors across NexG’s operations, and is supported by our Emergency Response Teams (“ERT”) at respective premises. In FY2025, several policy enhancements were made to strengthen our safety practices:- • At DMSB’s card manufacturing operations in Klang, a new IMS Policy was introduced to reflect enhanced OSH commitments. • Updated the OSH Policy at DCSB’s RPS Centre. The ERTs at our sites are well-equipped to coordinate quick and effective responses to potential incidents. Emergency drills, inspections, and safety briefings are conducted to ensure readiness. During the year, a variety of targeted training and awareness programmes were delivered across the Group’s sites, including:- • First Aider • Evacuation drills • Firefighting training • Incident, Investigation, Non-Conformity & Corrective Action Management Processes • Hearing Conservation Programme • ERT and OSH coordinator training • Chemical Spillage and Handling At DTSB’s PJ223 premises, the OSH Committee is composed of elected employee representatives. The committee oversees hazard identification, and risk mitigation, while providing a platform for employees to voice concerns and suggest improvements. This way, employees have a direct role in shaping a safer and healthier workplace. DMSB and DTSB sites continue to maintain ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System standards, affirming our commitment to internationally recognised health and safety management standards. At the governance level, OSH remains a material topic with updates provided to the Board on safety performance and risks. Safety matters are discussed at Board meetings, ensuring strategic oversight and accountability. Risk assessments are conducted for both new and existing operations to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential hazards. We also carry out safety audits and inspections, ensuring that safety controls are effective and up to date. Trash2Treasure 2.0 Roadshow
