NexG Berhad Annual Report 2025

ANNUAL REPORT 2025 SUSTAINABILITY Sustainability Statement (Cont’d) 63 HUMAN RIGHTS & LABOUR PRACTICES WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? At NexG, upholding human rights is not just a policy, but a principle that is embedded in our Group’s ethos. We believe that fostering a workplace where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect is essential to building a motivated workforce. When employees feel safe and valued, they are better able to contribute to innovation and long-term success. Beyond internal practices, respecting human rights across our operations and supply chain is critical to maintaining the trust of our stakeholders and cultivating a more equitable future. OUR APPROACH Our approach to human rights is guided by internationally recognised standards, including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, which shape our policies and procedures. We emphasise nurturing an inclusive and merit-based workplace where every individual is treated with fairness and respect—regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or socio-economic background. Our Employee Handbook serves as the primary internal reference for human rights and labour practices across the Group. We ensure employees are informed of their rights from the outset, with the Handbook available on our internal portal for reference. It outlines key employment terms, such as working hours, minimum wage compliance and health and safety standards, to name a few. Beyond the Handbook, terms and conditions of employment, such as wages, probation periods and termination procedures, are specified in individual offer letters. In FY2025, we continued to reinforce our efforts in relation to human rights and labour practices: • Established SOP on flexible working arrangements to promote work-life balance across the Group. • Enhanced internal controls to enforce overtime limits and safeguard employee well-being. • Promoted efficient work practices through employee training on time management, health and wellness programmes, among others. • Implemented the new Minimum Wage Order 2024, effective 1 February 2025.
