ANNUAL REPORT 2025 SUSTAINABILITY Sustainability Statement (Cont’d) 56 ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP (CONT’D) Waste Management (Cont’d) Across our operating sites, our teams continued to support waste reduction through practical initiatives. These include implementing a 3R campaign (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), which aims to embed everyday sustainability habits into the workplace — from more mindful use of materials to better handling of recyclable items. Additionally, we carried out the second (2nd) edition of the Trash2Treasure programme, an initiative aimed at promoting the creative reuse of recyclable materials through staff involvement. Employees were encouraged to participate in simple recycling efforts as part of their daily tasks. While modest, these actions help cultivate a more conscious consumption mindset and demonstrate that everyone can play a meaningful role. In this edition, we successfully collected a total of 15,495.5 kg of recyclable materials from all six (6) subsidiaries. At the same time, we are working towards setting waste reduction targets across our key sites. For example, DCSB has set an internal goal to cut down on paper use by the fourth quarter of FY2026, whilst DTSB is reviewing its waste data to identify suitable reduction measures for future implementation. Pollution and Resources (Materials) Pollution Control NexG monitors and manages air emissions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and to minimise potential impacts from operations. Across our facilities, air emissions are low, but controls are in place to reduce pollution. At DTSB’s PJ223 facility, emissions are assessed annually through third-party stack emission testing. These checks help us stay compliant and ensure that key pollutants — like particulate matter, nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxide — remain well within acceptable limits. Similarly, DMSB’s manufacturing facility in Klang undergoes air quality monitoring through an external service provider. Pollution prevention is guided by an internal policy that outlines the site’s commitment to avoiding air, water, land and noise pollution. As part of this, activated carbon filters are used to capture airborne pollutants from printing processes. As we move forward, we will continue to monitor emissions and fine-tune our practices to maintain compliance with the Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations 2014. Materials Use Managing our use of materials responsibly is a key part of NexG’s approach to environmental sustainability. While our operations are not resource-intensive in scale, the materials we use are essential to the quality, functionality and security of our products — particularly in personalisation and card manufacturing processes. Biodiversity Conservation As a technology solutions provider, NexG’s operations have a relatively low direct impact on biodiversity. However, we acknowledge that even indirect effects — such as emissions, waste and resource use — can contribute to broader environmental pressures if not managed responsibly. We incorporate this awareness into how we operate: by maintaining proper water and waste management practices, preventing pollution and using resources efficiently, we aim to reduce our overall footprint on natural ecosystems. While we do not operate in conservation-sensitive areas, our commitment to responsible environmental practices supports the broader goal of biodiversity preservation.
