ANNUAL REPORT 2025 SUSTAINABILITY Sustainability Statement (Cont’d) 48 ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS PERFORMANCE WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? As the key provider of Malaysia National Identification Card (“MyKad”) and International Civil Aviation Organization (“ICAO”) compliant e-Passport solutions to the Malaysian government, NexG plays a pivotal role in contributing towards national critical projects. This profound responsibility underscores the significance of our economic sustainability. This resolve to achieve and maintain financial stability supports the Group’s continued focus on innovation and growth. These efforts cement the Group’s competitiveness at the forefront of our industry, while contributing to Malaysia’s broader economic and technological development. Furthermore, a sustainable business performance is the foundation upon which NexG creates value for our stakeholders. This includes delivering healthy returns to our shareholders, meeting our obligations to financiers, contributing tax revenues to the government that support socioeconomic growth, and investing in our local community through job creation and charitable initiatives. OUR APPROACH In FY2025, NexG continued to deliver sustainable economic value through consistent project execution and reliable solutions that support national priorities. These initiatives reinforce our financial resilience and reflect our role in delivering critical national projects. As a trusted provider of mission-critical ICT solutions, NexG maintains its long-standing position as the total solution provider for flagship national initiatives such as MyKad and e-Passports. In FY2025, we expanded our portfolio to meet evolving industry needs by supporting both new and renewal applications for the Foreign Worker Card (“i-KAD”), along with the development of its digital application. We also continue to serve as the strategic partner to the Immigration Department of Malaysia (“IDM”), providing end-to-end support for the Autogate systems deployed at Malaysia’s key international entry points, including KLIA Terminal 1 and 2. These biometric-enabled systems facilitate automated border clearance and enhance the security of immigration control processes. Beyond public sector projects, we also operate Malaysia’s largest personalisation service centre for credit, debit and ATM cards, serving financial institutions and reinforcing our position as a trusted provider of secure, high-quality solutions. FY2025 also marked a key milestone in NexG’s international expansion. In May 2024, we secured a five-year e-Passport contract, involving the supply of 500,000 units of passport chips, booklets and polycarbonate data pages to a West African country. This marks our first overseas e-Passport project, reflecting the growing confidence in NexG’s expertise as a secure identity solutions provider. More information on our strategic initiatives can be found in the Management Discussion & Analysis (“MD&A”) section of this Annual Report FY2025. ECONOMIC Economic sustainability forms a core part of NexG’s business strategy. We strive to drive lasting economic growth while upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability. As part of our broader sustainability agenda, we focus on key areas that promote ethical business practices, including good governance, supply chain stewardship and customer trust. Through these efforts, we not only support the resilience of our business, but also our ability to deliver sustained value to stakeholders and contribute meaningfully to national development goals.
