NexG Berhad Annual Report 2025

ANNUAL REPORT 2025 OUR PERSPECTIVE 36 Management Discussion And Analysis (Cont’d) BUSINESS AND OPERATIONAL REVIEW (CONT’D) Operational Performance In parallel with these corporate developments, the Group delivered a solid operational performance through several key contract renewals and project wins. The Ministry of Home Affairs continued its engagement with the Group by extending multiple core contracts, including the supply of Malaysian passport booklets, polycarbonate biodata pages, and secure chip components. The Group also received a contract extension for the maintenance of its Facial Live Capture (“FLC”) system, a critical component in the national enrolment and document validation process. These contract renewals reaffirm NexG’s status as a trusted and reliable partner in delivering secure identity infrastructure to the Malaysian Government. Complementing these renewals were new projects secured within the financial year. Among them was the award of a smart card supply contract with a state-owned enterprise in Indonesia, which marked the Group’s first fullscale commercial venture into the ASEAN region. This contract supports the Group’s regional expansion plans and aligns with its broader vision to export Malaysian-built identity solutions to emerging digital economies. Domestically, the Group was awarded with contract to supply and print special category of driving license cards to Road Transport Department of Malaysia (“RTD”). We were also appointed to supply and manage vending machines designed to support self-service delivery of public services; an initiative that underscores NexG’s growing relevance in government digital interface infrastructure. Additionally, the Group secured a contract from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (“CAAM”) to provide secure ICT infrastructure aimed at enhancing digital oversight and operational safety in the aviation sector. A new era of national impact and regional relevance has begun for NexG We also commenced the deployment of our first overseas e-Passport contract, awarded by a government in West Africa. This international project not only represents an important commercial breakthrough but also positions NexG as a viable player in the global identity solutions market. It validates the Group’s competitive strengths in secure document production and paves the way for further opportunities in emerging markets with similar e-Government aspirations. Together, these initiatives; both corporate and operational, underscore the Group’s commitment to sustainable, forward-looking growth. While FY2025 results were primarily driven by the legacy Datasonic operations, the strategic foundation laid through the establishment of the new pillars, the formation of corporate alliances and the entry into new markets has positioned NexG Berhad for a new era of national impact and regional relevance. The momentum built over the past year is expected to carry forward as we activate our transformation agenda in full.
