He had joined the Public Service as an Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs in December 1981 and has since held various positions at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Prime Minister Department, Jakim, Langkawi District, Immigration Department of Malaysia and the last position was the Deputy Director General of Immigration Department until June 2017. He does not hold any directorship in other public companies and listed companies.
