127 SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITTEE Regarding general health and safety, all employees are represented by a formal joint management-worker Health and Safety Employee Committee (“HSEC”). This Committee focuses on concerns such as mental health, accidents, harassment and bullying. The HSEC consists of 18 members from the Group’s management to represent the employer and 22 staff representatives to provide various points of view on employee health and safety measures, in compliance with OSHA requirements and the Group’s OSH Policy. The aim of this committee is to assess any safety risks in MYEG’s operations, both present, and future whilst also giving counsel to the Board regarding overall management. Health and safety discussions are carried out with worker representatives on a regular basis. FY2024 saw several OSH-related meetings held to further reinforce OSHA compliance as well as discuss the Group’s health and safety policy. BOMBA also earlier invited 35 team members including Building Management staff, to attend Fire Safety Training on 26 and 27 February 2024 at the Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Damansara, which covered both theory and physical fire training. As of FY2024 at MYEG, 16.95% (FY2023: 15.75%) of workers are represented by formal joint management-worker health and safety committees. OSH INCIDENT INVESTIGATION As per MYEG’s established OSH protocols, all OSH-related incidents must be reported and investigated as soon as possible. These include, but are not limited to, work-related fatalities, injuries, disabilities, illnesses, diseases and near misses which must be reported to the Management and/or relevant authorities as required by law for further investigation by MYEG.
