92 MY E.G. SERVICES BERHAD Registration No. 200001003034 (505639-K) MATERIALITY MATTERS (cont’d) FUEL CONSUMPTION AND EMISSIONS PERFORMANCE MYEG closely monitors and discloses data on fuel consumption of its vehicle fleet (shown in the below graph) as well as electricity consumption (which can be found in the Electricity Consumption section of this report). Total Direct Energy Consumption for Vehicle Fleet + Internal Courier (Fuel) (Litres) 150,000.00 100,000.00 50,000.00 0.00 200,000.00 FY2022 FY2021 FY2023 169,424.75 178,283.90 115,704.19 Note 1: Scope One Direct Energy (Fuel) for FY2023 takes into account the usage of diesel, petrol by MyDelivery motorcycle riders and Internal Courier fleet, in litres. Note 2: Scope One Direct Energy (Fuel) for FY2023 fuel data may not be comparable to FY2021 and FY2022 data due to: i) The difference in calculation methodology, in which a more refined and accurate data gathering and calculation methodology has been employed for FY2023’s Scope 1-related calculations. ii) Given this refined fuel and emissions data gathering and calculations methodology being employed in FY2023, Scope 3 emissions have been segregated as a separate category in FY2023 (whereas in previous years Scope 3 business travel fuel and emissions data were part of Scope 1 calculations). The majority of fuel consumption at the Group is attributable to the last mile delivery of documents to end-users under the MyDelivery(1) service as well as internal courier(2) activities. While careful route planning is carried out to ensure deliveries are conducted in the most efficient manner possible, which ensures not only cost-efficiency but also fuelefficiency, fuel usage for last mile delivery purposes will be closely related to the volume of e-government transactions recorded, with increased demand typically translating to higher number of deliveries required. MYEG will continue to monitor the environmental impact of its riders and internal couriers in order to continue achieving a significant reduction in carbon footprint in the future. In this regard, the Group is optimistic that over time fuel usage related to deliveries will progressively decline as more documents are digitalised, bypassing the need for physical documents to be delivered to customer premises. In fact, this digital transformation is already taking place, underpinned by recent efforts by the government to introduce digital versions of previously physical-only documents such as road tax, drivers licences and foreign worker permits. For its part, MYEG is facilitating and enabling customers to opt for these digital options. Adding further impetus to this digitalisation drive is the Group’s active ongoing efforts to promote the issuance of digital credentials on the Zetrix blockchain platform, which ensures safety, security and verifiability. ____ Note: (1) MyDelivery: MyDelivery is a specialised service aimed at delivering MyEG products directly to our clients.
