ECONOMIC DIRECT ECONOMIC VALUE CREATED MYEG’s services make transactions and interactions between governments, businesses and individuals simpler, faster, more efficient, more secure and hassle free by digitalising previously manual processes. This not only applies domestically but across borders as well, particularly, through the Group’s blockchain solutions. Overall, this enables the domestic and regional economies to perform more efficiently in terms of cost and time saved, and elevates productivity. MYEG’s economic infrastructure also has a wider-reaching effect in local communities and the general public. By spearheading the development and deployment of cutting-edge technology like blockchain, the Group is also helping to enhance knowledge, expertise and skillsets of the workforce in the economy, which encourages innovation and upskilling opportunities among developing communities in the region. Furthermore, the use of Self Sovereign Identity protocols on Zetrix provides high level security and personal data privacy beyond what is available through conventional Web2 technology, which is an issue of great public importance. However, as MYEG pursues the deployment of new technologies, old methods/processes would face disruption, which may indirectly affect jobs/businesses, though time has proven that with retraining and upskilling any downsides can be overcome and are always more than compensated by the wealth-creation benefits derived from new technology deployments. On the non technology-related front, MYEG’s involvement in Malaysia’s foreign worker housing programmes help provide safe, quality, affordable housing for foreign worker communities and help governments better manage the social aspects on the ground in regards to managing the interests of migrants and citizens living within specific vicinities. Given the consistent demand for MYEG’s commercial and concession services, especially its blockchain-based solutions, MYEG sustained its robust business in FY2023, collectively contributing to a positive financial and operational performance throughout the year. to enhance knowledge expertise and skillsets of the workforce in the economy which encourages innovation SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT
