Achieving excellent occupational health and safety (“OSH”) performance is of paramount importance to the Group for several reasons. OSH incidents, such as accidents, can significantly disrupt ongoing work, leading to delays or additional costs incurred due to damages. Beyond the aspects of value creation, MYEG places a high priority on being a responsible corporate citizen and aims to prevent incidents that could result in injuries or fatalities. The Group is dedicated to taking all necessary measures to prevent tragedies that could impact families and society. MYEG’s OSH standards are ISO-based and strictly adhere to the Occupational Safety & Health Act (“OSHA”) 1994, with oversight at the Board level falling under the Group’s Managing Director. Health and safety data is collected in accordance with OSHA standards, facilitating industry benchmarking for continuous improvement. Employees are provided regular training and briefing on safety to employees, with safety posters placed around the premises. Periodic reminders on safety and health via social media are posted to help protect workers against injuries and illnesses. While the world as a whole is well into the endemic phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, MYEG will continue to adhere to certain protocols and best practices regarding workplace safety, health and wellbeing when it comes to COVID-19 if and when it is necessary. Any COVID-19 positive case reported from MYEG’s employees will be immediately handled to mitigate the situation and ensure no further viral spread affects any other employee or customers.
