79 ANNUAL REPORT 2023 MST GOLF GROUP BERHAD GOING FORWARD Our focus is on accelerating the energy transition across our operations by implementing system and policy-level solutions for effective, large-scale reductions in energy usage and fostering energy-conscious stakeholders. Regarding effective governance, we aim to establish an Energy Use Policy with short-, mid- and long-term reduction targets and plans to govern our employees’ energy management actions. We plan to conduct risk assessments evaluating energy cost and scarcity risks amidst worsening climate and environmental conditions. Additionally, we will enhance data collection and maintain regular disclosures for accountability in our energy transformation process. In terms of system improvements, we aim to intensify our efforts in upgrading appliance energy efficiency and integrating smart sensors and design to conserve energy and achieve our reduction goals over the next five years. We will also continue overcoming challenges to achieve feasibility in installing solar panels on our premises. Finally, we aim to train employees on energy-conserving best practices and align them with reduction goals. We aspire to instil better practices and awareness among MST Golf’s stakeholders to better position them in their climate resilience journey. In 2023, our energy intensity was 154.43 kWh/m2. However, since our energy consumption reported is an underestimation of our real-world consumption due to data limitations, our energy intensity will also be lower than reality. Nonetheless, we aim to enhance our energy management to improve our energy usage and intensity moving forward.
