MSTGOLF Integrated Annual Report 2023

SECTION 2: OUR STRATEGIC CONTEXT 72 3 Waste Performance The following waste data is derived from our Malaysian Head Office operations, January-December 2023. It excludes other waste forms or premises, as we have yet to begin data collection at our Singapore head office, Malaysia and Singapore retail outlets, Golf Arena outlets, Golf Lab outlets, Golf Academy, events and new store openings. We aim to expand waste data collection to retail outlets and the Singapore Head Office in 2024. We do not generate hazardous waste due to our business nature and operations. We have also stopped providing plastic bags at individual work desks and implemented waste segregation at centralised pantry bins, saving approximately 21,000 plastic bags from desk bins in 2023. Since July 2023, MST Golf Arena stopped using singleuse staff meal containers, replacing them with reusables. This initiative saves around 12,000 single-use containers and RM8,000 yearly from purchases. Single-use paper placemats were also phased out, potentially saving RM4,000 yearly. To promote reuse and reduce single-use habits, we gifted all employees an MST Golf reusable container and bag during the 2023 annual dinner. We also gave the container and bag to all new employees during new employee orientation. Overall, we distributed 650 reusable corporate gift sets in 2023. In November 2023, we invited Refiller Mobile, a household product refilling service, to our Malaysia Subang Head Office. This event enabled employees to refill their household products, promoting the habit of reusing containers and introducing the concept of refilling. During this event, 124 old plastic bottles and packaging were reused. In 2023, we printed 482,560 sheets of paper at our Malaysia Subang Head Office. While no paper reduction targets have been established, we encourage conservation through necessary printing, double-sided use and reuse. Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT
