MSTGOLF Integrated Annual Report 2023

65 ANNUAL REPORT 2023 MST GOLF GROUP BERHAD WHY IT MATTERS TO US Greenhouse gases (GHGs) are gases that trap heat and contribute to global warming, leading to environmental issues like climate change, water scarcity, biodiversity loss and extreme weather events. We are cognisant that climate change is driven mainly by GHG emissions from human activity, and our golf business contributes to emissions. As we expand operations across Southeast Asia, our carbon emissions and climate impact will grow significantly. Therefore, we strive to reduce our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by meeting global carbon goals and improving processes to manage our carbon impact. We also aim to engage stakeholders to raise awareness and restore natural carbon sinks for collective climate resilience. KEY STRATEGIES We are adopting three key strategies to manage and reduce our carbon footprint. 1 Measure, Track & Report 2 Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions 3 Engagement & Education We aim to establish processes to measure, track and report yearly Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions from MST Golf operations with clear reduction plans and strategies. We aim to implement reduction initiatives and offset plans to lower our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions with specific targets. We strive to enhance collaboration, raise awareness and involve stakeholders in emission reduction plans through increased engagement. The Group is committed to implementing strategies and actions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our operations and mitigate climate change. GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS Link to UN SDGs
