MSTGOLF Integrated Annual Report 2023

55 ANNUAL REPORT 2023 MST GOLF GROUP BERHAD fabric items reclaimed through this initiative. 2.49 tonnes OUR INITIATIVES During the year in review, we implemented several initiatives, including recycling and repairing golf products and equipment, to prolong the life cycle and manage waste from our golf products. In collaboration with Kloth, a social enterprise focused on textile recycling, we introduced Kloth Cares fabric recycling bins at two of our Klang Valley outlets in 2023 to encourage customers and staff to donate and recycle used golf apparel and accessories. Through this initiative, we have reclaimed 2.49 tonnes of fabric items, which may also include fabric waste from other sources or brands. This initiative helps reduce fabric waste to landfills and incinerators, thereby reducing their impact on the environment. 1 Kloth Cares Fabric Recycling Bins Our Golf Lab and MST Golf Tech Shop employ certified fitters and builders who offer golf club repair and fitting services to help customers optimise their performance and extend the lifespan of their clubs. Our club fitting process ensures that customers’ golf clubs suit their body needs and physicality, while our club repair services, such as grip replacement, prolong the functionality of existing clubs and extend their life cycle. 2 Club Fitting and Repair GOING FORWARD We acknowledge that the golf products and their packaging, sourced by us, generate greenhouse gas emissions and produce waste. Therefore, we aim to minimise singleuse materials and reduce packaging waste in our product distribution and sales processes moving forward. We are also exploring more products made from sustainable materials as well as packaging options and new product life cycle management channels with our brands, suppliers and sustainability partners to enable more effective product life cycle management for our customers. Lastly, we will ensure our employees are well-informed on golf product waste sources and life cycle management strategies to effectively execute programmes and engage customers in our stores. of materials used for packaging purposes recorded. 17.6 tonnes We rely heavily on product packaging during our procurement, distribution and retail phases. To reduce unnecessary pollution from product packaging, we offer customers the option to accept and recycle specific unwanted packaging, such as shoe boxes, glove packaging, golf ball packaging, apparel polybags, equipment boxes and package set boxes, on their behalf when they purchase our products. 3 Packaging Material Management
