49 ANNUAL REPORT 2023 MST GOLF GROUP BERHAD OUR INITIATIVES In 2023, we made strides to fortify our golf ecosystem, making the sport more accessible to enthusiasts while supporting sustainability efforts across the industry. In 2023, we opened our first retail outlet in Jakarta at La Piazza, Summarecon Mall Kelapa Gading, marking our successful expansion to Indonesia. We also expanded six stores across Klang Valley, Johor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan, ending the year with a total of 49 outlets across Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. 1 Retail Expansion v 2 MST Golf Arena During the year under review, we opened three new MST Golf Arena indoor golf simulation centres in Penang, Johor and Jakarta, bringing our total to five facilities across Malaysia and Indonesia to help players ignite their passion for golf. Toyota Tour and Professional Golf Development 4 MST Golf takes pride in its commitment to building a sustainable ecosystem for the golf industry in Malaysia, nurturing talents and enhancing the overall landscape of professional and amateur golf through impactful initiatives. In 2023, MST Golf co-organised the Toyota Tour, a premier year-long golf tournament for professionals in Malaysia, as its Delivery Agency to provide a competitive platform and pathway to regional circuits for Malaysia’s professionals and aspiring professionals. Beyond the tournament, we also managed the Toyota Tour Elite Junior development programme and conducted nationwide junior clinics to bridge the gap between professional and amateur golf. Through strategic partnerships with Professional Golf Malaysia (PGM), MST Golf also introduced initiatives such as The Golf Lab online certification and a two-year internship programme to elevate the skills of golfers using cutting-edge technology in coaching and custom fitting. 3 The Golf Lab In 2023, we opened four new The Golf Lab locations in Penang, Johor, Singapore and Indonesia to provide golf lessons and custom-fitting services supported by state-of-the-art technology, bringing our total to eight in the region. We also aim to broaden the demographics of the golf population by expanding The Golf Lab locations to encourage beginners, especially the younger generation, to learn golf in a fun environment.
