31 ANNUAL REPORT 2023 MST GOLF GROUP BERHAD SUSTAINABILITY GOVERNANCE At MST Golf, sustainability is governed from the top, with the Board of Directors (“Board“) holding ultimate responsibility for oversight of matters related to sustainability and climate change, including environmental impacts, risks and opportunities, while being supported by a Sustainability Working Committee (SWC), which works closely with all the department heads to drive sustainability. The chart below outlines the Group’s sustainability governance structure: The SWC drives the implementation of sustainability programmes and initiatives. Its responsibilities include managing and analysing sustainability data collection for MST Golf’s annual sustainability disclosure in compliance with regulatory requirements. The SWC meets once a month and regularly discusses and troubleshoots issues, ensuring consistent progress. It reports to the Board on sustainability progress quarterly. Supporting the SWC are heads of departments who oversee the execution of sustainability programmes, initiatives and ESG data collection from their respective departments. They regularly provide feedback and updates to the SWC to coordinate and ensure effective implementation and data collection. All MST Golf employees are required to adhere to our sustainability policy and standard operating procedures besides participating in the Group’s sustainability initiatives and programmes. Additionally, we have appointed designated employees to collect relevant ESG data from their work functions. This is to emphasise the Group’s aim of embedding sustainability principles into our day-to-day operations to instil environmental and social awareness in our employees. Moving forward, we aspire to enhance our sustainability governance by establishing a committee at the board level dealing with sustainability-related matters and incorporating sustainability-related indicators into annual performance appraisals and remuneration-linked performance indicators of our senior management. Currently, our annual Board Evaluation Questionnaire is integrated with ESG-related questions. In 2023, our Board attended the Mandatory Accreditation Programme: Sustainability Training. We will continue to build ESG capability by intensifying sustainability-related training for the Board, senior management and all our employees. For more information on the Board’s training, please refer to the Corporate Governance Overview Statement on page 124. The Board has overall responsibility for overseeing sustainabilityrelated matters, including climate change and environmentalrelated issues. The Board ensures that the Group’s strategy and direction support long-term value creation and are incorporated with economic, environmental and social considerations. The Board is supported by the SWC, which oversees the Group’s sustainability progress. The SWC comprises executive directors and key senior managers such as the CEO, CFO and COO.
