MKH Annual Report 2025

TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT (CONT'D) Our employees actively contribute to resource efficiency in the workplace by switching off lights and electrical appliances when not in use and minimising paper consumption through reduced printing. Recycling practices are implemented across our offices and malls, with dedicated bins provided and waste materials periodically collected for processing by certified recycling service providers. These simple yet impactful actions reflect our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility at all levels of the organisation. MKH also demonstrates its dedication to preserving healthy ecosystems through responsible plantation management. We enforce a zero-burning policy for oil palm planting and display signboards promoting environmental preservation and wildlife protection as reminders for field workers. Agrochemical use is minimised through natural alternatives, such as planting beneficial plant species and using barn owls to combat pests. Effluents from our CPO mills are treated using anaerobic, aerobic and facultative ponding systems before being applied as natural soil fertiliser. The Plantation Division proactively adapts to changing environmental conditions by improving water management systems and refining harvesting operations. To further reduce carbon footprints, our Property Development and Construction Division continues to develop Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) projects strategically located near public transportation hubs. Nexus @ Taman Pertama, a 43-storey serviced apartment is located approximately 150 meters from the Taman Pertama MRT station, while MKH Boulevard II sits adjacent to the Kajang MRT-KTM Komuter Integrated Station, providing seamless connectivity for residents. Water-saving habits are actively promoted among employees and tenants, with notices and posters displayed in designated areas to encourage responsible water usage in washrooms and pantries. These efforts reflect MKH’s holistic approach to sustainability balancing energy efficiency, green design and community wellbeing to contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for all stakeholders. We enforce a zero-burning policy for oil palm planting and display signboards promoting environmental preservation and wildlife protection as reminders for our field workers.
