We calculate the emissions from employee commuting by sending a group-wide survey to all employees, asking them to provide feedback on their mode of transport, their distance to the workplace and their round-trip commuting distance in FY2024. The calculation is based on the data from 50% and 100% of the MKH Group and MKHOP employees surveyed respectively. The survey did not include the field workers of plantation estates, as they are staying in the plantation and transportation is usually provided to them. MKH Group Emission Management (Cont’d) Emission at MT of CO2e Scope 1 Scope 2 Scope 3 (employee commuting) 0 FY2024 FY2023 FY2022 4,000 3,000 2,000 1,000 6,000 7,000 5,000 6,611 6,165 5,767 293 156 179 184 The Group’s measure the emissions of GHG in three scopes: Scope 1: Direct emission from sources owned or controlled such as machineries, vehicles and gensets. Scope 2: Indirect source of emissions from the generation of purchased electricity consumption. Scope 3: Indirect source of emission mainly associated with employee commuting. The Group’s carbon footprint is calculated based on the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard. Data for emissions generated was based on internationally recognised calculation tools namely 2006 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines. Whereas, emission from the grid electricity was based on the Grid Emission Factor published by the Energy Commission of Malaysia and Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia (Faktor Emisi GRK Sistem Ketenagalistirikan).
