Developing Our Materiality Matrix The following steps outline the processes we underwent in 2022 to arrive at our current set of 11 material matters. We plan to conduct our next materiality assessment exercise in 2024. 4. Materiality Matrix Created Steps 2 and 3 are integrated to derive the materiality matrix. The matrix will evolve with continual strategy assessments, emerging trends and new insights from stakeholders. 5. L eadership Workshops on the 4Ps for Discussion and Deliberation IHH leaders come together in multiple workshops to develop mitigation solutions, further refine our material matters and determine sustainability goals. 6. F inalisation of Material Matters A total of 11 priority matters are derived and categorised within our four sustainability pillars. 3. Management Ranking The IHH senior management team ranks the identified material matters based on their importance to the Group’s long-term business goals. How We Developed the Materiality Matrix 1. P reliminary Identification Process Patient feedback and analysis is our first point of information gathering. We then conduct secondary research, tapping on published literature and online sources to identify priorities of our patients, people, public and planet. 2. M ulti-stakeholder Engagement Exercise IHH patients, employees, doctors and shareholders validate identified material topics and uncover new ones. These stakeholders contribute their input via surveys, focus group discussions and in-depth interviews, providing quantitative and qualitative data to refine our focus on the most important material matters.
