He was appointed Executive Chairman of the Company on 9 December 2022. Previously, he was the Group Managing Director for the Company and its subsidiaries since 1 October 2020. He previously was Vice President of Downstream Marketing at Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) and was the Managing Director of PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad. He began his career in 1987 as a Project Engineer with PETRONAS Gas Sdn Bhd. In 1992, he joined PETRONAS as a Senior Executive of the company’s Corporate Planning & International Business Development unit. He then left to join HICOM Holdings Berhad in 1995, where he assumed various senior positions. He lent his expertise to PERODUA when appointed Senior General Manager in 1999. Subsequently, he was appointed Executive Director of PERODUA Auto Corporation Sdn Bhd in 2002 and later promoted to Deputy Managing Director of PERODUA in October 2005. Thereafter, he held key positions in established corporations, including Proton Holdings Berhad as the Group Managing Director and an Independent Non-Executive Director for RHB Bank Berhad and RHB Islamic Bank Berhad. In July 2018, he was appointed Chairman of the Board at Universiti Teknologi MARA, a position he held until January 2021. He is currently the Chairman of the Pan Asian E-Commerce Alliance, the first regional eCommerce alliance in Asia that aims to promote and provide secure and valueadding IT infrastructure and facilities for efficient global trade and logistics. Additionally, he serves as a Director at Cahya Mata Oiltools Sdn Bhd and Cahya Mata Cement Sdn Bhd. Previously, he held the position of Chairman at Scanwolf Corporation Berhad until 31 December 2023.
