ECOLOGICAL IMPACT Our Technology and Energy Divisions rely on inputs that are derived from natural resources. As such, it is vital that we operate in ways that maintain equilibrium with surrounding natural environments and the stability of their ecosystems. Doing so not only contributes to a more balanced and healthy world, but contributes to stability in our operating environments, protecting our long-term business interests. None of our existing operations are in, or adjacent to protected areas identified by the authorities. In seeking to minimise our impact on ecosystems and biodiversity, our companies are compliant with the Environmental Quality Act and Regulations 2007, which provides clear standards in relation to pollution and the enhancement of surrounding natural environments. Furthermore, our OGPC and SilTerra business units have obtained the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System accreditation, aligning their business practices to internationally-leading standards in environmental management. Beyond compliance and work processes alone, we aim to inculcate awareness of the value of biodiversity across our workforce, and actively seek to initiate corporate social responsibility activities where our employees can put their learnings into practice. Moreover, we maintain ongoing dialogues with industry players and government entities to foster participation in joint initiatives that may maximise the scale and impact of our positive action for the environment. Even though the ecological footprint of our operations is relatively low, our efforts in protecting natural ecosystems and biodiversity ultimately contribute to our reputation as a responsible and environmentally progressive organisation, and will continue to impact stakeholder perceptions and our ability to achieve our business objectives.
