SECTION 07 pg. 164 AL-SALĀM REIT CORPORATE GOVERNANCE OVERVIEW STATEMENT This Corporate Governance Overview Statement (“CG Statement”) outlines the key features of the REIT’s corporate governance framework, summarises the governance practices adopted during the financial year under review, and highlights the Board’s key focus areas and forward-looking priorities in strengthening governance standards. The Board remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding a robust and effective governance framework across the REIT. The Board recognises that sound corporate governance is fundamental in supporting Management in achieving the REIT’s strategic objectives and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the business for the benefit of all stakeholders. The pursuit of high governance standards is a continuous and evolving process, taking into account changes in the REIT’s business environment, operational landscape, Board composition, and developments in governance practices and regulatory expectations. In discharging its governance responsibilities, the Board has been guided by the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance (“MCCG”) in implementing corporate governance practices, while ensuring full compliance with the Main Market Listing Requirements (“MMLR”) of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, the Guidelines on Listed Real Estate Investment Trusts (“Listed REITs”), Bursa Malaysia Corporate Governance Guide (28 April 2021), and the Companies Act 2016. This CG Overview Statement provides a summary of the REIT’s governance practices during the financial year, structured in reference to the three (3) key principles of the MCCG, together with their intended outcomes and recommended practices.
