We embarked on an enhanced sustainability journey in 2023 with a focus on raising ESG awareness and integrating this knowledge into the daily operations of our employees. A significant step in this journey was the organisation of the 2nd Bank Islam Sustainability Workshop in November. Objective: To foster a culture of sustainability across all divisions within the Bank. What We Did: We organised a Sustainability Workshop where we discussed and developed sustainability and ESG action plans for the Bank’s divisions. We invited customers to share their sustainability experiences with the management and invited experts to provide insights on various topics, such as UNSDGs, human rights, waste management, renewable energy, sustainability products, and regulatory changes. Outcomes: The workshop enhanced sustainability awareness among participants, leading to ongoing improvements in environmentally supportive financial services. It also generated practical initiatives, deepened understanding of international reporting standards, and reinforced the Bank’s long-term commitment to sustainability and global development goals.
