ACCELERATING PRODUCTION OF MEDICAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT AIDING SHELTER HOUSES PROVIDING RELIEF FOR POLICE OFFICERS The pandemic increased the need for Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at a number of hospitals throughout the country. We took immediate action by collaborating with the prison departments, namely Jabatan Penjara Penor in Pahang and Jabatan Penjara ŚƃȶȈɽƃ ¶ƃȚƃȶǼ Ȉȶ ČljȢƃȶǼɁɨӗ ƃȶǁ ƺɁȶɽɨȈƹʍɽȈȶǼ ƃ ɽɁɽƃȢ Ɂǹ ĄÃѴѵѳӗѳѳѳ as day wages to inmates to produce sufficient number of PPEs for hospitals in need. Utilising the sewing and stitching skills of the Ȉȶȴƃɽljɰ ƃɽ ƹɁɽȃ ɥɨȈɰɁȶ ljɰɽƃƹȢȈɰȃȴljȶɽɰӗ ƃƹɁʍɽ ѹӗѳѳѳ ĀĀKɰ ʥljɨlj ɥɨɁǁʍƺljǁ ǹɁɨ ǁȈɰɽɨȈƹʍɽȈɁȶ ɽɁ ȴɁɨlj ɽȃƃȶ Ѵѵ ȃɁɰɥȈɽƃȢɰ ƃȶǁ ɧʍƃɨƃȶɽȈȶlj centres within the Red Zone area. The initiative was implemented with cooperation from other organisations as well, including Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia, National Disaster Management Agency and Jabatan Kerja Raya (Department of Public Works). ǁǁȈɽȈɁȶƃȢȢʰӗ ʥlj ɥɨɁʤȈǁljǁ ɰʍɥɥɁɨɽ ɽɁ ѷѳ ǹƃȴȈȢȈljɰ Ɂǹ ɰljȢljƺɽljǁ ljȴɥȢɁʰljljɰ ǹɨɁȴ °ƃƹƃɽƃȶ ĀljȶȚƃɨƃ ĀljȶɁɨӝ ƹɁʍɽ ĄÃѴѳӗѳѳѳ ʥƃɰ contributed to these families, in addition to a direct donation of ĄÃѸӗѳѳѳ ɽɁ ɽȃlj ɥɨȈɰɁȶ ǁljɥƃɨɽȴljȶɽӗ ɽɁ ƃɰɰȈɰɽ ɽȃlj ȴƃȶƃǼljȴljȶɽ ʥȈɽȃ activities that benefitted the inmates during the month of Ramadan. The implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) made it hard for shelter homes to obtain basic provisions, including much-needed food for their occupants. In view of this, we collaborated with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia to deliver food supplies, including rice, cooking oil, coffee, ɽljƃӗ ɰʍǼƃɨӗ ɰƃȢɽ ƃȶǁ ɰɁʰ ɰƃʍƺlj ɽɁ ѴѴ ɰljȢljƺɽljǁ ɰȃljȢɽljɨ ȃɁȴljɰ across the country.
