8 MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN Key Message About Our Repor t Over v i ew of Bank I s lam PRESERVING THE POTENTIAL OF HUMAN CAPITAL IS A PRIORITY The ability and potential of human capital was compromised as the pandemic and its impact intensified in the first half Ɂǹ ѵѳѵѳӝ Žɽ ʥƃɰ ȶɁ Ȣljɰɰ ɽȃƃȶ ƃȶ ljʯȈɰɽljȶɽȈƃȢ ɽȃɨljƃɽӗ ʥȃljɨljƹʰ people went through an emotional roller coaster, infection fear, movement restrictions and isolation as well as job and productivity loss, and possible financial crisis. It was important to demonstrate camaraderie to be able to support the most- in-need and at-risk employees. Our efforts focused on three key areas – ensuring ‘Physical and Emotional’ wellbeing; ȈȴɥȢljȴljȶɽȈȶǼ ԆÇljʥ Śƃʰɰ Ɂǹ ŚɁɨȟȈȶǼԇ ƃȶǁ ȟljljɥȈȶǼ Ԇ‰ȈǼȃ Morale’ through proactive engagement. Considering the movement restrictions and safety protocols, the immediate need was to redefine our workplace and modernise as well as simplify the way we work, with emphasis on high productivity, continuous learning and growth even in such challenging times.
