MISC Annual Report 2018

STRONG CULTURAL BELIEFS & SHARED VALUES We have developed strong cultural beliefs and shared values at MISC by nurturing and developing our people. Our cultural beliefs are that results matter, and we own those results and do not blame others. We believe in focused execution and we nurture trust. We seek, give and act positively on feedback and share successes. Our shared values of loyalty, integrity, professionalism and cohesiveness map directly to PETRONAS, our majority shareholder. This is part of the ‘A PETRONAS’ initiative, led by PETRONAS Group Human Resources to create a single, unified PETRONAS identity throughout human resources. As we have expanded our business to four core businesses and three key enablers, our cultural beliefs journey which commenced in 2016 was rolled out to promote cohesiveness, empowerment and unity amongst employees, whilst complementing existing Shared Values to create a positive, healthy and thriving work culture. The journey started with MISC, and was progressively rolled out to Eaglestar, AET, and ALAM. In 2018, the roll out was completed across MMS and MHB. As we celebrated our 50 th anniversary in 2018, we also took the time to make a longer-term assessment of the importance of our workforce in the past five decades in terms of People, Passion, Possibilities.
