The name Tun Azizan was chosen as a tribute to the late Tun Azizan Zainul Abidin, whose contributions to PETRONAS and the nation, are undoubtedly significant and inspiring. The event was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Nasarudin bin Md Idris, Chairman of Malaysian Maritime Academy Sdn. Bhd. The ceremony also marked a significant milestone for ALAM as it celebrated its highest number of female graduates passing out from the academy.
