He is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). Dato’ Ab. Halim joined KPMG/KPMG Desa Megat & Co. in 1977. He had his early accounting training both in Malaysia and the United States of America. He held various positions in KPMG and acted as receiver and manager and liquidator for several companies. He was made Partner of KPMG in 1985. At the time of his retirement on 1 October 2001, he was the Partner in Charge of the Assurance and Financial Advisory Services Divisions and was also responsible for the Secured e-Commerce Practice of the firm.
